She can SING, write amazing lyrics, has an overload of swag, and is of Moroccan descent. Meet “the next big thing” in the music industry; Bibi Bourelly.

Of Moroccan and Haitian origins, Bibi has music and art in her blood. Daughter of Jean-Paul Bourelly; a respected jazz musician, and a mother (deceased of cancer when Bibi was only six) who was an artist and head of the Art Department at Berlin’s House of the World’s Cultures, the 21 year old Berlin-born and today LA-based singer and songwriter has already made a big name for herself in showbiz.

A true music prodigy, Bourelly started writing songs at the age of four, and a few years later made the brave decision to leave her hometown of Berlin and move to Los Angeles, and that while in her teens, in order to pursue her dreams, or as she put it in an interview with Madame Noire;”I was born to do this. I was born to create music for the world. I was made for song”.

In case you didn’t know, Bourelly is actually the lyricist behind Rihanna’s hits; “B*tch Better Have My Money,” “Higher,” and “Yeah I Said It”, co-wrote Selena Gomez’s “Camouflage”, Nick Brewer’s “Talk to Me”, and also lent her beautiful vocals to Usher’s “Chains”, and Lil Wayne’s “Without You”.

Today, signed to Def Jam Recordings, this 21-year-old artist is releasing a two-part EP (Extended Play); with the videos to two of its tracks;“Ego” and“Sally” already available on Bourelly’s youtube channel.

Style and swagger personified, just like her songs the young woman’s instagram account exudes so much character, and a general “I don’t give a F***” attitude. We love it!

Check it out.
