Going for a job interview, especially for the first time can be nerve-racking for obvious reasons. However, add to the mix the stress and pressure of looking right and professional, and you get yourself an anxiety attack. They say that you should dress as the job you want to have, and not the one you already have. Confusing right? Appropriate job interview outfits can be hard to figure out, especially if you want to get out of the clichéd suit, or simple tailored pants with a shirt.
I’m a believer in always dressing up according to your personality, but just alter your looks to make them appropriate to each situation and circumstance. Job interview outfits are serious stuff, they represent the first impression your future employer will have on you, because “we do judge a book by its cover”. Thus, looking professional is a non-negotiable characteristic for your outfit, and being trendy and stylish should also be a must in my opinion.
As I said earlier, there are some classics that will always be safe options. However with actual trends as separates, midi skirts, the androgynous look, prints, and others you have more options to choose from. So, with subtle styling, and with the help of some street style inspiration from the gallery below, you will be able to come up with a creative outfit that will probably help you get more confidence for the interview.
